The B.R.E. Kart Kit comes with everything that you need to build your own high quality, single seat, live axle kart.  The high quality, MIG welded, frame is sturdy and is made to last.  Nothing but the best components are used in this kit.  Some of the parts are the same ones that are used on the best competition karts.

The B.R.E. Kart Kit is designed for engines up to 6 horsepower.  The engine, clutch and chain guard IS NOT INCLUDED with the kit and must be purchased separately.

Because this is a kit, that was designed for educational purposes, and as a parent/child project, all of the painting and preparation for painting, some drilling, filing and sanding is left undone.  All of the welding and machine work is finished when the kit is supplied to you, so you don't have to worry about that.  The seat cushions must also be assembled and installed.  It is a lot of work, but when you are finished, you will be proud of the top quality kart that you put together.

Complete kit only $575  (quantity discounts are available, just email; bergfelt@bellatlantic.net or call (724) 847-3677 for info.

Coming soon, off-road, bolt-on brush bar/cage kit

Also coming soon, competition roll bars, bumpers and nerf bar kits.

The B.R.E. Kart Kit and the High School Racing Program
This kit was originally developed so that students who did not have access to to a complete power technology and machine and fabricating shop could get involved in the high school kart racing that has been developed by Mark Bergfelt first at Oliver High School, then South Vo-Tech. High School and then Carrick High School.  All of the schools are in Pittsburgh.  This program started at Oliver in 1989, when students in Mark's classes first built their karts at school and then competed at Blanket Hill Speedway.  Since Mark is now assigned to Carrick, the current program is based there as well as at BRE.  Unfortunately, the teachers that replaced Mark at the previous schools chose not to continue on.  It has also been difficult to get other schools on board.  In response, the kit was developed, so that individual students, and home schooled students could participate.  This kit is a great way to introduce technology education into a home school curriculum.  By all means, any technology or vocational teacher is welcome to inquire about starting this exciting program at their school.
